Advocacy & Equity
Community Mission
What we design and build today, and how we act, will profoundly impact future generations of all living systems. The building sector is the largest user of energy resources and, therefore, the largest contributor to climate change in Connecticut.
Committed to raising public awareness
Everyone must understand the role buildings play in Climate Change as well as their potential to reduce climate impacts, improve health, comfort, and well-being, plus creating, and sustaining high quality clean-energy jobs.
We are proactively involved in advancing state and local policy by:
- Working with state agencies in an advisory capacity,
- Offering written and oral testimony at public hearings,
- Proposing policy initiatives to help Connecticut meet its climate goals,
- Encouraging and enabling our members to drive meaningful and positive change with their own voice, and
- Engaging in coalition-building activities to amplify our collective impact.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
– Margaret Mead
Better Buildings Can Change The World...
