Alicia Dolce

Executive Director

Alicia was hired to serve as the Executive Director of the Connecticut Green Building Council in 2019. As a founding member of Connecticut Passive House, she is excited to be a part of this next chapter to serve a unified organization.

After a career in marketing and advertising, Alicia joined forces with her partner, a seasoned builder of energy-efficient homes. The two of them co-founded Celebration Green Design & Build, a design/build company on the CT shoreline committed to energy-efficient homes with a specialty in Passive House and zero net energy. Their firm has received multiple Home Builder Industry Awards (HOBIs) for high-performance homes, and in 2016, one of their projects was selected as the grand prize winner of the CT Zero Energy Challenge.

Alicia’s passion to educate, advocate, and inspire has included a broad spectrum of outreach efforts including organizing educational and training events – such as the first Passive House designer & consultant training in Connecticut, building project open-houses, and “Pro Tours” to showcase high-performance design & construction. She has given talks on high-performance homes and written educational content, including a multi-part series on building a zero-energy home for the online edition of Builder magazine. In recognition of these efforts, Alicia was a recipient of the CT Green Building Council’s 2017 Judy Swan Green Advocate Award.

Originally from Ohio, Alicia has made the northeast her home for over thirty years and has been a resident of Connecticut since 1989. In 2018, she and her partner built their own all-electric Passive House/Zero Energy potential home in Guilford and expanded their commitment to sustainability by installing a no-mow lawn and pollinator meadow. Their home received recognition from Green Builder Magazine as one of their 2021 Green Homes of the Year. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys reading, writing, cooking, and being outside – especially digging in the dirt or experiencing the world over the handlebars of her bike.
