Catherine Santos Young

Born in the Philippines and raised in northern New Jersey, I discovered architectural drawing as a teen and was captivated by the blend of art, science, and structure. I pursued architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, interning with NYC firms Kushner Studios and David Yum Architects working on multifamily mixed-use and high-end residential homes. A six-month work-study program in Florence,Italy, allowed me to study Italian while working with Lo Studio Enrico Guanieri on apartment renovations and Tuscan homesteads, an experience that set the tone for my architectural career. I embraced New England life in 2006, spending over 15 years at Penniman Architects, refining my design and project management skills under George Penniman’s mentorship. In 2022, after the office closure of PA, I launched TAMA Architecture PC to focus on sustainable design and bring my vision for a modern architecture firm to life.
