Elizabeth Murphy

Liz Murphy has more than a decade of experience working on behalf of Connecticut’s ratepayer-funded clean energy programs for organizations including AVANGRID (United Illuminating, Southern Connecticut Gas, and Connecticut Natural Gas), Eversource, and the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority. She holds a master’s degree in Resource Economics from the University of Connecticut and bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Liz served as a member of AVANGRID’s Connecticut Sustainability team for four years—one of which she served as the team leader. She has dedicated her career to helping Connecticut residents and businesses save energy, improve economic health, and reduce their carbon footprint.

Currently, Liz manages the Commercial and Industrial Conservation and Load Management team across AVANGRID Connecticut and Massachusetts. She holds United Illuminating’s seat on the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Board. When outside of the office, Liz dedicates her time to instilling in her daughter—through their involvement with Girl Scouts—the importance of environmental stewardship, civic engagement, and advocating for meaningful issues.
