This Month’s Guest:

Mike Turaj
Generation Power CT (formerly Operation Fuel)
Policy & Public Affairs Advisor
Mike Turaj is the Policy & Public Affairs Advisor at Generation Power CT (formerly Operation Fuel). GPCT is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency energy and water assistance to limited-income Connecticut families. In this role, Mike provides guidance and expertise on utility-related policy issues and helps shape how Generation Power CT interacts with the public, stakeholders and decision-makers.
Mike earned his B.A. in History in 2020 from Assumption University in Worcester, Massachusetts. During his undergraduate experience, Mike interned with the World Affairs Council of Connecticut, where he helped develop the 2019 Connecticut Model United Nations program.
After his undergraduate experience, Mike took on a position as an Organizer for Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont’s successful re-election campaign in 2022. A moment on this campaign led to his specific passion for providing energy assistance to those in need. While door knocking, Mike remembered an older woman who said she wished she could afford her energy bill and to keep her home warm in the winter without worrying.
In January 2023, Mike worked for Capitol Strategies Group LLC, one of Connecticut’s most highly ranked government relations firms as a Lobbying Assistant. In this role, Mike monitored and produced summary memos on various legislative committees during the 2023 Connecticut General Assembly legislative session.
Mike joined the talented team at GPCT in July 2023 as the organization’s Policy & Public Affairs Associate, later being promoted in early 2025. Currently, Mike helps develop and implement successful government affairs, public policy, and advocacy programs for the organization and their clients. This includes engagement at both the state and federal level, especially with the Connecticut General Assembly and Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.
Mike hopes to continue making a difference in the lives of those in need in Connecticut, especially in the energy industry, where he has found that his passions lie.
