Connecticut’s adoption of the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC 2024) marks one of the most significant energy code updates in recent years. While the new code builds upon the foundation of IECC 2021, it also introduces expanded compliance pathways, additional efficiency credits, revised envelope and mechanical requirements, and new provisions that encourage earlier integration of building performance into the design process.

Elliot is an architect and high-performance design leader with eighteen years of professional experience on a variety of project types in diverse climates around the globe. He serves as the firm-wide lead of building performance at CannonDesign, supporting projects with simulation validated design guidance.
Elliot’s architectural background combined with his technical building performance knowledge provides him with a diverse set of skills that enables him to find effective, creative, and integrated design solutions for any project. His work incorporates a variety of building simulation tools alongside parametric design techniques in order to generate environmentally responsive design solutions.
In addition to his work at CannonDesign, Elliot is a board member of BuildGreenCT. He also teaches classes on high performance building design at Columbia University and Pratt Institute and has guest lectured at Syracuse University, Cooper Union, Carnegie Mellon, NYIT, and NJIT.
Elliot has given presentations on utilizing computational design for building performance at conferences such as Greenbuild, the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA), Advancing Computational Building Design (ACBD), and the Architecture Boston eXpo (ABX).
