Jill Cartagena

A native of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, Jill earned a degree in graphic design from the University of Connecticut in 1992. She later received a three-year master’s degree in architecture from the University of New Mexico, during which she interned with the National Park Service documenting roads and bridges in Yellowstone National Park and in Washington D.C. More than a dozen of her team’s bridge drawings reside in the Library of Congress.

After practicing architecture in locales ranging from Washington, D.C. to Seattle, Washington, Jill returned to Connecticut in the early 2000s. She worked at a local firm for more than a decade before striking out on her own for a period. Prior to joining Centerbrook Architects in 2019, Jill spent three years as a facility designer at General Dynamics Electric Boat in New London.
