LEED v5: Key Changes & New Features

LEED Version 5 was balloted and ratified March 28, 2025 bringing with it key changes and new features compared to previous versions. LEED v5 retains the same structure of prerequisites and credits in broad categories as before and the same number of available points and certification levels.

What’s New? All credits revolve around three impact areas, Decarbonization, Quality of Life, and Ecological Conservation and Restoration.  Our green building professionals will introduce you to the new features to help you apply LEED v5’s impact categories on your projects.

Changes to the v5 rating system credits are also accompanied by larger actions to allow the rating system to evolve with the changing market.

For Example:

  • the LEED rating systems will be updated every 5 years,
  • LEED credits will apply to the full building life cycle not just the design and initial construction modules,
  • Platinum certification now has specific credit requirements.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get ahead on the new LEED program!

Attendees will be able to:

  1.  Participants will be able to describe key changes and new features of LEED v5 compared to previous versions.
  2. Participants will be able to identify LEED system goals and impact areas
  3. Participants will be able to apply LEED v5’s decarbonization, quality of life, and ecological conservation and restoration impact categories on their projects.
  4. Participants will be able to identify the specific credits required to obtain a platinum LEED certification for LEED BD+C and ID+C and O+M projects
