Tell us about your company.
Founded in 1975, Centerbrook is a community of creative problem solvers working together to advance placemaking and the craft of building.
What is your role in sustainability?
At Centerbrook, we believe true sustainability is a fundamental part of making good architecture, and Centerbrook’s commitment to net zero buildings by 2030 goes hand in hand with our commitment to high-quality design that delights and brings out the best of the human spirit.
What’s your Why?
My interest in being a member of BuildGreenCT is because I believe in their mission, its vision and values. I also believe in community service. Lastly, I’m hoping to expand my knowledge in this area of my practice and work alongside like-minded individuals as we work towards a common goal.
Project You’re Proud Of
I’ve been involved in the Bryant University Field House project since design development through completion and the opening of its doors this school semester. We’ve incorporated many sustainable building practices including energy and water conservation, low VOC materials, smart land use and reducing heat island effect including a green roof.
What motivates you?
Last year I became a Certified Passive House Designer, and I want to put my certification to good use. I strongly believe this is the way we need to build now, not down the road, to save our climate and planet. I am strongly motivated to bring more awareness to these issues.
What are your hobbies?
Outside of the office, my family is immersed in soccer culture as both fans and players. I previously coached my son’s youth team and have played in adult recreation leagues, where I met my husband. We all enjoy watching and attending professional and international matches.
Fun Fact:
While at Centerbrook, l designed and built this modern take on a classic Adirondack – my first project in a wood shop.
