New Member Benefit: Our Spotlight Tour Series!

News

Published July 7, 2025

For years, BuildGreenCT has brought people together to discover Connecticut’s most inspiring green buildings through our popular tours.

Now, we’re turning the spotlight on you—inviting Members and Annual Sponsors to nominate their own projects for our Spotlight Tour series.

Members and Annual Sponsors are invited to submit a Spotlight Tour Proposal for consideration. This helps us determine if your project is a good match for our Spotlight Tour series. We welcome proposals for both completed projects and open-walls (under construction) tours.

  • Please submit only if you’re confident a tour can be hosted on-site; access to site, insurance, etc.

  • The proposal covers key details like site information, project type, and high-performance features.

  • Once submitted, BuildGreenCT will review your proposal. If selected, we’ll follow up to gather final details and confirm your tour date.

Spotlight Tour Programs are generally 1.5-2 hours long, including an overview of the project (verbal remarks and/or presentation) and a guided tour, with a Q & A portion. The Slide Deck is distributed to attendees after the program.

Your Role:

  • As the host, you will serve as the primary point person confirming site access, working with BuildGreenCT to curate the event, providing expertise and content. Additionally, the host will be asked to identify project team members and/or tour guides who can participate in the program, either during the presentation/Q & A or to lead small group tours.

BuildGreenCT’s Role:

  • We will provide administrative and logistical support. We will take care of promotion, registration, and AIA CEUs submission & fulfillment. To help cover event expenses, we will charge a registration fee to attendees and reach out to project partners associated with this project for sponsorship.

Deadlines to Keep in Mind:

  • Rolling Applications: proposal completion

  • 8-12 Weeks from Tour Date: date confirmation, proposal acceptance, program delivery info, marketing assets collection, sponsor outreach

  • 5-6 Weeks from Tour Date: launch promotion and registration

  • 1-2 Weeks from Tour Date: final check & presentation “run through”

  • Week of Tour: program delivery

  • Post-Program Wrap & Bounce: social media/event highlight blog (if applicable), etc.
