Our Next Chapter Begins

The BuildGreenCT Board of Directors is thrilled to announce Shubhada Kambli is joining us as our new Executive Director.

Shubhada brings 15 years of experience advancing environmental and sustainability initiatives at the local, state, and national levels, along with her deep understanding of Connecticut’s green building and energy community. Her experience includes work at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the City of South Bend, the City of Hartford, and the Institute for Market Transformation, where she led initiatives related to building performance, energy policy, and housing.

As Director of the Office of Building and Transportation Decarbonization at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Shubhada facilitated multistakeholder sustainability efforts for state facilities and managed the team guiding the strategic review of Connecticut’s $700 million ratepayer-funded, utility-administered weatherization and demand response programs. Across these roles, she has brought people together to tackle complex challenges spanning building performance, energy policy, decarbonization, housing, and community sustainability.

Just as important, Shubhada understands the power of collaboration. She has worked alongside many of the organizations, professionals, advocates, and leaders who make up Connecticut’s sustainability community and has served on boards including Sustainable CT, the Metropolitan District (MDC), New England Women in Energy and the Environment, the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Board, and the City of Hartford’s Energy Improvement District Board.

Educated at Wesleyan, Tufts, and Harvard, she holds advanced degrees in environmental health, design, and policy.

As we enter our next chapter, we could not be more excited to welcome a leader who brings both extensive experience and a genuine commitment to the people and partnerships that move this work forward.
