Who We Are

Build Green Connecticut is a statewide organization, built upon a rich history of people coming together as early as 2001, drawn by an interest and commitment to rethink how buildings are designed and constructed.

What We Do

As the voice of the green building industry in Connecticut, we work to raise awareness that the building sector is the largest contributor of Connecticut’s greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), and therefore, must be part of the solution.

  • We have the knowledge, skills and means to construct new buildings and retrofit existing ones so that we drastically reduce this GHG contribution and create buildings that are healthier, more comfortable, and less of a burden to heat and cool.
  • We believe that it is incumbent on all who are involved with the built environment to do their part to design and build better buildings that are more sustainable.
  • We work to spread awareness, build knowledge, and advocate for responsible and equitable practices in building and legislation.

Whom We Serve

If you are a professional seeking information on sustainable building certifications; a builder looking to increase or promote their skills in high performance building; a vendor hoping to share knowledge and product insights; an advocate for fair, safe, and healthy housing; a building or home owner wondering what they can do to improve their own environments; or anyone interested in learning and sharing what can be done to create a more sustainable built environment for all, BuildGreenCT provides information, inspiration, and a community of like-minded people.
